Women in Workforce

Women have fought for a long time to get equality against men in workforces. In 2010, women only made 77 cents to every dollar a man earned. Obviously women still not as equal as men. The gender wage gap in the United States is lower than in many other countries. Women put many hours into household activities then men do and still getting paid lower then men. Women have caught up with men in terms of education, but still not in the workforce.
I feel this is not fair because women can do the same exact thing men can do if not better. Women have more responsibilities on their hands, such as being a mother and watching over children. We do way more then men do and we still don’t get equal pay as them. I feel we as women need to fight more and really get what we want which is equality.

Middle east and Islamic society

Some Americans think Muslim women were forced to cover themselves completely, denied their education and other rights. Muslim women all over the world have struggled against inequality, work force, and family roles. Many of the practices not occur in the Islamic religion but also from other local cultural traditions.  Islam gives women some rights.  Islamic women had rights that western women didn’t have until the 19-century. For example Muslim women retain their own assets. Also they are allowed to keep their own last name after marriage.
I feel in the Islamic religion they just have roles for women so they can respect themselves, as well as be respected. They cover up as a sign of respect and only some are denied education because they feel women should stay home and help with family and teach the younger children how to act when older.

Women in Catholic Religion

Women in the Catholic religion are said to be equal. They have the right to be sponsors at Baptism and confirmations. They are treated equal to their husbands. It’s said that they can serve on the parish council and finance committees.  They can be readers at Mass if needed. They can work in parish office and teach religious, just like men can.  Women cant be priest because of the establishment of the sacrament of Holy orders, which nobody can change.  Regardless Women in churches are canon lawyers, judges, and chancellors across the country.
I feel this fair because Women actually have the opportunity and a role in the church just like men do. They are treated equally and have the right to do a lot of things involving the church. They are not looked upon as lower class then their husbands they are displayed the same.  Even though Women are not priest due to the Christ establishing things in the sacrament, they have important titles in the catholic religion.

Women in Hinduism

Women in Hinduism obtain a very important and superior position to men.  In the Hindu religion only powerful words are feminine, like “shakti” which means “power” and “strength.” Women and men were equal in education and the religion itself.  Women participated in sacrifices together with men.  According to Hinduism women was created to company men, and continuation of family lineage. Women duties are to help the husband and continue the family tradition. She gives birth to children and watch over them and men help to provide for the family. Hinduism religion worship women, as aspects mother goddess and consorts of male gods.

I actually like how the Hinduism religion is set up. They display women as an important role in the religion. Not only do they respect women equally as men, they show how women help the men and create the family and help keep the tradition. They don’t just bash women and make them seem useless and just a person who give birth to children and have no say in anything. They actually worship women and that’s a beautiful thing.

Women in Buddhism

In the Buddhism religion some beliefs said that the soul only exist in a man but not in woman. Also its been said that woman have been the sources of all sins, and been blamed for the misfortunes of men in this world. They’re many strange beliefs that woman had to be reincarnated as men, before they were able to gain their salvation. Nevertheless in one article its said in contrast to other religion its been said that Buddhism is the least discriminatory. Even thought they display the differences between men and women, they gave women credit for their capabilities and abilities. In another articles its said that women in Buddhism been looked up upon as the interior to men. They were considered as being on the same level as the Sudras, which are the lowest of the four castes.

It seems like in a lot of religion women have been viewed badly and men have been the more dominant one. Women are downgraded and seem useless for some reason. Without women there would be no men. I feel religion should really display the important roles women play in our lives today. Women give birth to babies, nurture them, work, do housework, and are a good wife and mother. Its about time women are being viewed in a good and appreciated way.

Women in Christianity

Women in the Christian religion are somewhat similar to how women in the Islam religion are treated. Christian women can have only internal spiritual or religious experience and are denied leadership roles. In conferences the subject about banning women from the priesthood even came about.  In Christianity women are viewed to submit themselves on to their husbands, and be to their own husbands in everything. By the end of the 19th century a lot of women took this into consideration and tried to fight in organizations to make a change.
I feel women have the right to be a leader and not only have men doing the job all the time. I feel women should also have a priest job in churches because they can have good ideas too. It isn’t right men have to be the dominant one all the time. I actually like the fact women made a change and tried to fight in clubs and organizations to get their word across. Some women can’t speak out and fight because of the consequences.
