A main issue I will like to talk about is how Women are viewed in the Islamic religion. In the article i read, it describes how the Qu'ran explains how women and men are equal but in fact they're not treated equal. Women in the Muslim society are treated as possessions of their husbands. Women don't even have equal rights to make independent decisions about choice of marriage. If a women wants a divorce, she will face difficulty in suing, whereas the husband can just he divorces her and can be released from their vows.
I feel both Women and Men should be equal in the Muslim religion. Me being Muslim and growing up by the rules of Islam i just feel it's not fair how women are treated differently from men. Men are viewed as the more dominant one and they can make demands that the women have to follow. Its sad how women have a little say in any situation. Men can do what they want, but as a female theres a lot you cant do just because your a female.

ReplyDeleteI agree with your argument. It isn't fair that Muslim women are treated as possessions and that they do not have the same equality as the men. It is degrading to us as women that such things like this still happen in the world. I also feel as though that if the women want equality then they should fight for their rights.Yes, there are many downsides to them attempting to revolt, but at least future generations would be able to say that they tried. Plus, once someone or a small group of women attempt to start a revolt it will give other Muslim women the courage to stand up for themselves and fight to gain equal rights for themselves and future generations to come.
