Men Role In The Catholic Church

imgres.jpgimgres.jpg

In the Catholic religion each male relationship there is the potential for holiness. There are opportunities for the Catholic man to discover and do God’s will. As an adult son, he’s reached an age of maturity, wisdom that comes from living, and give thanks for his parents and repay them for their many gifts and sacrifices. As a son, accept and rise above their mistakes or shortcomings. As a husband, he’s co-celebrant in the sacrament of marriage. As a husband he makes everything to his wife “ours”, instead of this is “yours and this is “mine.” As a catholic husband he realizes his wife knows him better than anyone, being a partner in marriage makes it easier for him to imagine, to believe, in God’s great love for him. As a father, it teaches a Catholic man about sacrifice in a way that marriage alone can’t. As a father he shows love, admit to mistakes, ask for forgiveness, value honesty, work hard, and laugh easily. As a worker, a Catholic man needs to listen, to pray, t test the waters, to take “leaps of faith” to discover the unique role God has prepared for him. A Catholic man has a set of criteria to measure success that often differs from those around him.
I feel these rules are common like other religion and how they view men. I feel these are fairer because it’s saying that as a man they should be in partnership with their wife, and also children. Also, to have a good relationship with God and pray. To accept their wrongs, forgive, and thank God for all he has done for him.

Men Roles In Hinduism

In classical Hinduism there are particular dharmas or duties for individuals according to their standing in society. Specific expectations also developed concerning one’s sex, resulting in different patterns of life for men and women. Regulations formulated in Hinduism prescribe particular stages of life to be followed by upper caste men and women. The “Student Stage”, is referred as Ashrama , which begins when the boy is initiated into the “twice born” through a special ritual in which he would receive a sacred thread. This thread signifies his standing as an upper caste member. The household stage is when he enters the household in his early twenties. During this time, the young man would rise a family, establish himself financially independent and as a responsible contributor to society. The third and fourth stage for men goes beyond the household stage. These final two Ashramas pertain to the pursuit of religious objectives. The third stage, the “forest dweller”, a man and his wife move to a more modest dwelling, usually to the edge of a village near a forest. They begin to withdraw from active social life in order to become more introspective and devoted to the life of the spirit. The fourth stage is a stage of rigour and austerity that few men would embark upon. When a man enters this stage, he renounces his former identity and everything associated with it for example, his name, his wife and family and all material goods. He performs no rituals, no work, and subsists only on the generosity of others.

I felt this was more interesting than other roles of men in other religions. I felt like the responsibility of men in Hinduisms goes beyond the usually which is, the men of the household, leading the family, hardworking and strong. Men have to go through certain stages in the Laws of Manu, which is quite different than other religions. I felt it was more serious and spiritual than other men roles. I feel man are seen really high in Hinduism and have to prepare for the real world and families when they’re growing up.

What the Bible say about Men

In the Bible, it portrays that if any man doesn't provide for his relatives or members of his household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.  Also they must live with their wife in an understanding way. They need Show honor to the woman as the weaker vessel. The husband must love their wife as Christ loved his church, and gave himself up for her. The husband must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive. A man is supposed to be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, and be strong.

I feel sometimes pressure is being brought upon men. Men are supposed to be leaders and lead the path of good things for his family. Men are supposed to set rules and make decisions for his family. They're supposed to be seen as strong and a protector. I will sometimes there being put on the spot light when things are going wrong, because there meant to fix everything. If something is going wrong with a family everyone turns to the leader of the household which is the Man. They take the blame for the family because it’s their responsibility to make sure everything is good.

Men role In the Muslim Religion

According to this article Men have control over women in the Islamic religion.  While it is forbidden for a Muslim women to marry a non-Muslim man, men aren't under the same restrictions to their choice of marriage. This is a consequence of the low status of a wife against that of her husband.  It’s also said a wife must be subordinated to her husband. A man must not let a Muslim women be without their guardianship.  In the Quran its quoted that “Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded.”

I feel in the Muslim religion men are more superior then women are. They have the right to do basically what they want and women don’t have the same rights. Men are seen to be the guardian of women and the protector.  They have to watch over women and make decisions for them. I feel this isn't fair because it showing that men are better than women and that’s not the case.

role of men in Jewish religion

Most important role as a Jewish male is his role as a scholar. At the age of 13 a boy becomes a “bar mitzvah” which means “Son of the commandment.” This marks the beginning of the boy’s study of the Torah, which is the study he will continue for the rest of his life. Another role of a Jewish man is to be a teacher. They take knowledge and pass it down to younger men. Another role is a prayer leader. The prayer leader as the Chazan in Judaism is the most modern Jewish congregation. It’s a male who is well versed in the prayers and melodies in the Jewish religion. Jewish men are expected to be the head of the household and to provide for their wife and children. Before getting married a Jewish man must sign a “ketuvah” which is a marriage contract that dictates a man providing food and clothing for his wife.
