A majority of citizens in Muslim majority countries over 60
percent disagree with the notion that a university education is more important
for a man than for women. They’re some barriers to girl’s education because
some families lack resource to educate all of their children. However female
education in Arab countries has made some big gains in the world with literacy
rates and gender enrollment gap decreasing since 1970. Also there is a growing
acceptance of women working. 77 percent of Egyptian youth support a woman’s
right to hold a job for which they are qualified. One of the highest women’s labor force
participation in the Middle East rate is 45 percent. As conservative women
focus on the importance of women’s role as wives and mothers, women activists in
Islamic groups are largely educated professionals. This is also the same for Christian
female activist in the United States; they most often work outside of the home.
I feel this is such
a great change how many people are against the fact that men deserve education
more then women. People are trying to make women equal in the Islamic society
and make everyone equal. They even add that women make the best education professors.
They are given women a chance to prove themselves and here we are after many
years of not being equal we are getting what we want.

I agree, I think this is such an amazing change. Women and men deserve equal rights, especially when it comes to something like education. I was surprised to hear how many people in the Middle East agree with this while reading your blog! To hear something like that, "Women make the best education professors" is empowering and I am happy to hear this is true. Women needed at least a chance to prove that they deserve all that men get. Now that they received the chance, they proved many wrong and are working there way up. I can't wait to read more!
ReplyDeleteI agree that this is an amazing step for women's rights. Knowing the history of the the inequalities of women in the Middle East, this change in education is will help them to show their true potential. I hope that this is just the beginning for the women reforms in the Middle East.
